WOMEN EMPOWERMENT 03 JULY 1851

On July 3, 1851, #RashtraPita_Mahatma_Jyotiba_Fule and #RashtraMata_Savitribai_Fule founded the country's first women's school in Chiplankurwara, Pune, in which 8 girls were admitted on the first day so that women could also get education. The Jyotiba couple believed that in the house where a man is educated, only one member is educated, but in the house where a woman gets educated, the whole family gets educated in that house.

Mahatma Jotirao Govindrao Phule (11 April 1827 - 28 November 1890) was an Indian social reformer, social philosopher, thinker, social worker, writer, philosopher and revolutionary activist. They are also known as Mahatma Phule and Jotiba Phule. In September 1873, he formed an institution called Satya Shodhak Samaj in Maharashtra.

He did many things for the upliftment of women and Dalits. He was a strong proponent of providing education to all sections of society. He was against caste-based division and discrimination prevalent in Indian society. Salute to Father of the Nation Jyotiba Phule and Father of the Nation Savitri Phule
